Frank Joseph Murphy Bursary 2024

About this scholarship:

It was established in 1994 and maintained by the income from a legacy from the late Frank Joseph Murphy.

Eligibility for the Frank Joseph Murphy Bursary:

• Applicants must be a domestic student.
• Students should be enrolled in an approved program.
• Candidates are enrolled in a field or major offered by the School of  Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
• Students should have approval from the University to undertake an overseas exchange semester of study.

Must be enrolled in:

• year 3 or 4 (those completing a 4-year program)
• year 4 or 5 (those completing a 5-year program)
• or are a UQ graduate who graduated in 2022 or 2023 and studied in the Approved Program and Relevant Field.

Documents required:

• a cover letter
• your resume
• a copy of your acceptance letter from your Host Institution
• a copy of your approval letter from UQ for your approved exchange
• a copy of your most recent academic transcript from mySI-net
• a copy of your study plan at the Host Institution 
• a copy of your planned budget

Selection criteria:

• Academic achievement.
• Strength of the proposed overseas study program.
• Personal qualities, including leadership potential.
• Any other matter that the selection committee considers relevant to your future success.

Application Process:

Students must submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.
