Frank Evison Research Scholarship In Geophysics at Victoria University of Wellington 2025

The establishment of the institution took place in 2006 thanks to a kind donation from Professor Evison's family, which was matched by the Earthquake Commission, GNS Science, the New Zealand Geophysical Society, and other individual contributors. The goal is for students pursuing a Master's by Thesis or PhD to continue their studies in the area under the direction of Professor Evison. Long-term seismogenesis and long-range earthquake forecasting are the main areas of focus.

Eligibility criteria for the Frank Evison Research Scholarship In Geophysics:

• The scholarship is open to students at the Masters by Thesis or PhD level at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, with their research focusing on long-term seismogenesis and long-range earthquake forecasting.

Selection Criteria for Frank Evison Research Scholarship In Geophysics:

• Applicants must be enrolled or intending to enroll in a Masters by Thesis or PhD at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
• Applicants research will focus on long-term seismogenesis and long-range earthquake forecasting.

Value of the Frank Evison Research Scholarship In Geophysics:

$20,000 towards fees and remainder paid as stipend (subject to funds available)
