Overview

Finnish Language Skills Scholarship for Bachelor and Master level students is provided by Satakunta University of Applied Sciences(SAMK) to students who have enrolled themselves for a bachelor's or masters level program at the University. There are two scholarships available for candidates taking the Finnish language proficiency test. Basic

     Scholarship 1: User of the Finnish language (CERF level A2.2): EUR 1,500

  • This scholarship is assessed through a written certificate issued by SAMK or another institution of higher learning.
    • It requires a Finnish language teacher who has finished 10 ECTS credits in Finnish studies and has achieved a grade of at least 4, or a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
  • Undergraduate students have the chance to achieve level A2.2 by participating in Finnish language courses provided by SAMK.
    • Courses in Finnish from other higher education institutions will be recognized if they offer credits and are evaluated based on numerical criteria. 

     Scholarship 2: Independent User of the Finnish language (CERF level B1.2): EUR 3,000

  • This grant is assessed through proficiency exams in the national language (YKI 3, level B1.2).
  • The language test is designed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which includes learning, teaching, and assessing.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must have an offer letter for a bachelor's or master's course.
  • Applicants must be non-EU/EEA citizens.
