    Eligibility criteria

    At the time of entry into force of his scholarship, the recipient must have obtained his master's degree, be registered full-time in a doctoral study program in a Quebec university, plan to continue his university activities for two consecutive sessions, and begin or continue the project for which the scholarship was obtained. It conducts research on one of the following subjects: librarianship and the history and development of libraries in Quebec; archival science and the history and development of archives in Quebec; BAnQ's audiences and the use of the resources and services made available to them; the impact of technology on reading and writing; metadata on BAnQ documents and data produced by its activities.

    Finally, the scholarship holder must be:

    • Canadian citizen or permanent resident within the meaning of  the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act  (SC 2001, c. 27);
    • A resident of Quebec within the meaning of the  Health Insurance Act  (CQLR, c. A-29);
    • Domiciled in Quebec for at least one year.
    • He can also be a foreign student registered in a Quebec university and in possession of a study permit issued by the Government of Canada valid for the duration of his studies.

    An applicant for a research grant on a subject related to librarianship or archival science may not submit his project more than twice. If he has received a grant from the Research Support Program, a recipient must wait three years before presenting a new project.
