The University of the Algarve (UAlg), with the support of several partner companies committed to promoting academic excellence, offers Excellence Scholarships to outstanding students admitted to the university. These scholarships recognize students with exceptional admission results and help reduce the financial burden of their first year of study.

Eligibility Criteria for the Excellence Scholarships at the University of Algarve 2026:

  • Applicant must have an admission/application grade of 17 values or higher and have selected the programme as their first option to be awarded an Excellence Scholarship without being subject to the ranking process.
  • Applicant with an admission/application grade of 15 values or higher may be considered for an Excellence Scholarship through the applicable ranking criteria.
  • Applicant must have a high admission average in their chosen course to be competitive in the ranking process.

Application Process for the Excellence Scholarships at the University of Algarve 2026:

  • Applicant does not need to submit a separate scholarship application.
  • Applicant will be automatically considered by the University of Algarve based on the criteria established in the scholarship regulations.
  • Applicant will be selected according to the applicable admission grade and ranking criteria.

Value of the Scholarship:

  • The scholarship covers the tuition fee for the first year of a Bachelor’s or Integrated Master’s degree.
  • The scholarship is awarded at the beginning of each academic year during a public ceremony.
