Essex Undergraduate Early Bird Discount 2025-26

  • The Essex Undergraduate Early Bird Discount offers international students from selected global partner institutions in Malaysia a £1,000 discount on tuition fees for their first year of study at the University of Essex.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Overseas fee payers: The scholarship is available only to self-funded international students (students receiving a repayable loan for their studies will be considered self-funded).
  • Global Channel Partners: You must be studying at one of the following partner institutions in Malaysia:
  • Advanced Tertiary College (ATC)
  • Brickfields Asia College (BAC)
  • Taylor’s College (only if you apply via Taylor’s Placement Centre)
  • Taylor’s University (only if you apply via Taylor’s Placement Centre)

Conditional Offer:

  • You must meet the standard conditional offer for your course at Essex.
  • Firm Offer: Applicants from Brickfields Asia College must confirm Essex as their firm choice by 30 April 2025.
  • Applicants from Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University must confirm Essex as their firm choice by 30 June 2025.
  • No Rejection from Other Institutions: Applicants who become firm with Essex through rejection by their original firm choice are not eligible.

Promotional Activities:

  • Successful applicants must be available to participate in promotional activities if required.
  • Ineligible Students
  • You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
  • Are studying at East 15 Acting School.
  • Are a University of Essex International College (UEIC) pathway student.
  • Are enrolled in a wholly online degree.
  • Are a student who defers your entry to a later academic year.
  • Are sponsored by your government or another external agency and do not need to repay (except for VISA sponsorship).
  • Are assessed as paying home tuition fees.
  • Are a current student at Essex whose first year of undergraduate study was before the academic year 2025-26.
  • Are studying the EWIE joint educational programme.

Application Process

  • No separate application required: You do not need to fill out an application form for this scholarship. If you meet all eligibility criteria, the University will automatically assess your eligibility.
  • Automatic Consideration: The University will assess your eligibility based on the academic transcripts and certificates submitted with your application for your course at Essex.

  • Discount Amount: Successful applicants will receive a £1,000 tuition fee discount for the first year of study at the University of Essex.
  • One-time Discount: The scholarship is applied only for the first year of undergraduate study and cannot be used for subsequent years.
