Overview

EDC provides up to 20 scholarships a year to international business post-secondary students at Canadian universities and colleges, and 7 scholarships to post-secondary students representing the next generation of community champions from a diversity of backgrounds. The International Business Scholarship is exclusively awarded to Canadian citizens.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time accredited bachelor’s degree at a Canadian university or college.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in the following programs: Business and finance, Operations and administration, and Information technology.
  • Applicant must have a strong academic standing with a minimum of 70% cumulative average.
  • EDC employees and their dependents are not eligible. 
  • Applicants must provide Social Insurance Numbers for tax purposes.

Application Process: 

  • Interested candidates must apply online along with the following documents:
    • Personal statement/letter of intent (written response of maximum 1000 words or 3-5 minute video/voice clip).
    • Official transcripts of the most recent studies.
    • Most recent resume.
    • Reference letter.

Value of the Scholarship:

The selected candidates are awarded a sum of CAD 5,000.

Collateral includes either: Immovable property – a house or a flat or land (or) liquid security – an FD, or LIC or shares or bonds.
