Durham Inspired Computer Science scholarships 2023

Durham Inspired Computer Science scholarships are offered due to the generous support of our donors and are specifically designed to support applicants from underrepresented backgrounds.

Eligibility:

• Applicants household income must be below £42,875 (as determined by Student Finance England).
• Students must be the first generation in their immediate family to attend University.
• Candidates must be from a background currently underrepresented in Computer Science.
• Preference will be given to applicants from the North East of England - defined as having a postcode beginning with DH, DL, NE, SR or TS.
• Submit a character reference from one of your teachers in support of your scholarship application to be sent by email which contains:
  • Their name
  • Position
  • Contact details
  • The name of the scholarship
  • Your full name

Selection process:

• All eligible applications for the Durham Inspired Scholarship will be considered on the basis of their personal statement, reference and academic status.
• Other scholarship awards may also be taken into account when considering the allocation of the scholarship.
• The University may use additional datasets to identify applicants who come from neighbourhoods with low overall progression to higher education or high levels of socio-economic deprivation.
