The Dr. John C. and Marietta Peters Fellowship helps to provide support to graduate students in fisheries, aquatic resources, and natural resources research who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and potential for a significant career in environmental conservation.
Eligibility Criteria for the Dr. John C. and Marietta Peters Fellowship:
Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology
- Applicants must be Master's or Ph.D. students enrolled in the Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by CSU's Office of Student Financial Services.
- Applicants must have demonstrated superior academic achievement at CSU or another accredited college or university.
- Applicants must demonstrate potential for a career benefiting fisheries, aquatic species, or their habitats through character, professional experience, activities, and service.
- Applicants must demonstrate an interest in aquatic habitat protection and management, including water quality, natural channel changes, and water resource allocation.
- Applicants should be interested in research involving agriculture, engineering, and/or state and federal agencies.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
- Preference is given to students conducting field research.
Warner College of Natural Resources
- Applicants must be Master's or Ph.D. students enrolled in the Warner College of Natural Resources.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by CSU's Office of Student Financial Services.
- Applicants must have demonstrated superior academic achievement at CSU or another accredited college or university.
- Applicants must demonstrate potential for a career benefiting fisheries, aquatic species, or their habitats.
- Applicants must intend to conduct field research addressing environmental problems caused by natural or human activities and potential solutions.
- Applicants should pursue interdisciplinary graduate research involving expertise beyond natural resources.
