Dr Gordon H Carruthers Wardlaw Scholarship (West of Scotland) at University of St Andrews 2026

The Dr. Gordon H. Carruthers Wardlaw Scholarship (WoS) was established for applicants from the West of Scotland thanks to a generous donation from Dr. Gordon H. Carruthers OBE 1945 (1993 Honorary LLD).

Eligibility Criteria for Dr Gordon H Carruthers Wardlaw Scholarship (West of Scotland) at the University of St Andrews:

• Be domiciled in Scotland.
• Be from the West of Scotland (geographical requirement).
• Be a prospective undergraduate student.
• Apply after submitting an application for a 2026–2027 entry course at the University of St Andrews.
• Demonstrate financial need (means-tested).

Application Process:

• Apply through the St Andrews Access Award in the Scholarships and Funding section of My Application.
• Upload valid household income evidence, or alternative documentation if care experienced or an asylum seeker.
• Provide complete and accurate information before the deadline.

Value of the Scholarship:

• £4,400 per year (maintenance), optionally usable toward University accommodation.
• Paid in 10 monthly instalments from September to May (with a double payment in February).
• Renewable each year for the duration of the undergraduate programme.
