Dr. Erich Ciesciutti Scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:

The Dr. Erich Ciesciutti Scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt is funded by the Dr. Erich Ciesciutti Foundation, which aims to support students who are particularly deserving of financial assistance. The scholarship is intended for eligible Bachelor’s students and applicants who have experienced residential child and youth care or foster care, as well as Bachelor’s students and applicants with physical disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria for the Dr. Erich Ciesciutti Scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:

• Applicant must be a Bachelor’s student or applicant for a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Klagenfurt.
• Applicant must belong to one of the defined eligible groups:
  • Applicant must have spent part of their life in residential child and youth care or foster care and be making or have made the transition to an independent life; or
  • Applicant must have a physical disability.
• Applicant must fulfill the formal admission requirements for the chosen Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Klagenfurt.
• Applicant must generally be under 30 years of age at the beginning of the Bachelor’s degree programme.
• Applicant must be an Austrian citizen, a citizen of an EEA member state, or a foreign national/stateless person with equal status under the applicable regulations.
• Applicant who is a third-country national or stateless person must qualify for equal status through one of the applicable conditions, such as permanent residence in Austria, qualifying family-member status, or refugee status.
• Applicant must provide a Matura certificate, equivalent school-leaving certificate, or university entrance qualification.
• Applicant who is already enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree programme must provide their academic records/grades.
• Applicant with a physical disability must provide proof of a degree of disability of at least 50%.

Application process for the Dr. Erich Ciesciutti Scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:

• Applicant must prepare the required documents, including the school-leaving certificate or university entrance qualification.
• Applicant must prepare a motivation letter in German or English, consisting of 2 A4 pages and at least 6,000 characters excluding spaces.
• Applicant who is already studying must provide their academic records/grades.
• Applicant with a physical disability must provide a disability certificate confirming at least 50% disability.
• Applicant must submit the complete application by email to ec-stip@aau.at.
• Applicant may be invited to an interview in person or online if the selection committee has further questions.
• Applicant who is awarded the scholarship must provide any additional documents requested by the University.
• Applicant must maintain the required academic performance to continue receiving the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

• The scholarship provides €600 per month for an initial period of up to 12 months.
• The scholarship may be extended for a second and third year, subject to the applicable requirements.
• The scholarship provides €300 per month during each additional year of extension.

Notes:

• All application documents must be submitted in German or English.
• Nationality and equal-status requirements apply, meaning not all third-country nationals are automatically eligible.
• An interview is not mandatory for every applicant and may be conducted if the selection committee requires further information.
