Purpose:
The Dr. Anita Silvers Scholarship in Philosophy for Fall Applicants is intended to give students starting an M.A. program in philosophy significant financial aid. Depending on the pool of applicants, the quantity and value of scholarships awarded could change from year to year. The donor hopes that the scholarship will attract and retain students of a caliber that will enhance the program's reputation, mission, and standing as a pioneer in public higher education's philosophy curriculum as well as a leader in broadening the field of philosophy.
Eligible Criteria:
- Applicants must be newly admitted to the SFSU Philosophy M.A. Program.
- The enrolment requirement for Graduation students is 4 units
- Minimum GPA required: SF State Undergrad GPA: 3.3; SF State Grad GPA: 3.3
- Names of two SFSU graduate faculty who can serve as references for academic achievement
- Unofficial transcripts from student’s prior degree programs; unofficial transcript from SFSU; list of courses currently in progress
