Overview

Dodd-Walls Centre inviting both local and international students to apply for a chance to conduct outstanding research in a collaborative environment. The three-year Ph.D. scholarship covers tuition fees for domestic students but excludes the Student Services Levy and Medical Insurance.

Eligibility Criteria for Dodds-Walls Centre PhD Scholarships 2026:

  • Applicants may come from any nationality.
  • Applicants must browse through the list of current projects or contact any investigators whose interests overlap with their own.
  • Applicants must be residing in New Zealand to take up the Scholarship.

Scoring Criteria :

  • 50% Academic excellence of the candidate and demonstrated research capability.
  • 10% Quality of the project.
  • 10% Feasibility of the project and alignment of student capability with project goals.
  • 30% Alignment of the project with DWC KPIs/goals and Māori/Pacifica engagement as outlined above.

Value of the Scholarship : 

The successful candidates are awarded the domestic tuition fees.
