Dodds-Walls Centre PhD Scholarships 2024

Dodd-Walls Centre inviting both local and international students to apply for a chance to conduct outstanding research in a collaborative environment. The three-year Ph.D. scholarship covers tuition fees for domestic students but Excludes the Student Services Levy and Medical Insurance. The PhD stipend matches the rate set by the University where the student is enrolled.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The excellence of the Candidate academically capable of conducting research with prior experience in academic research to support their application.

The Science Team will assess:

• The alignment of the project with the research questions and science goals of the DWC.
• How the project introduces new research opportunities beneficial to the DWC.
• The project's contribution to enhanced collaboration within the DWC.
• How the project includes aspects of interest for Māori or Pacific communities.

Scoring Criteria :

• 50% Academic excellence of the candidate and demonstrated research capability.
• 10% Quality of the project.
• 10% Feasibility of the project and alignment of student capability with project goals.
• 30% Alignment of the project with DWC KPIs/goals and Māori/Pacifica engagement as outlined above.

Value of the Scholarship : 

• The Scholarship covers domestic fees and excludes Student Services Levy and Medical Insurance. The Ph.D. stipend is the same stipend rate at the University where the student is enrolled.
