Doctoral Start-up Grant - Simone-Paré Fund

The Doctoral Start-up Grant - Simone-Paré Fund is supported by the Simone-Paré Fund, and it supports first-year and second-year doctoral students at the School of Social Work and Criminology at Laval University.

Eligibility for the Doctoral start-up scholarship - Simone-Paré Fund:

  • Applicants must be registered full-time in a social work program.
  • Applicants must be in the first or second year of doctoral studies in the School of Social Work and Criminology.
  • Candidates should direct their thesis project in the field of social work of groups or other modalities of group work in community organizations.
  • Applicants must have completed the SVS-8000 Doctoral Seminar I course and the SVS-8001 Doctoral Seminar II course or be registered in this course at the time of application. Obtaining the scholarship will then be conditional on the successful completion of this course.

Selection Criteria:

  • The certified degree of advancement (transcript, confirmation from management)
  • The quality of the academic file
  • The quality of the study project related to the field of group social work or other modalities of group work in community organizations.

Application Process:

  • All eligible candidates must complete and submit the online form to be considered for the scholarship.

Award: CAD 5,000.
