Eligibility for the David Hare Award in Theological and Religious Studies:

Applicants must:

  • Be a domestic student of New Zealand.
  • Be enrolled full-time in Stage III of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or BA conjoint degree.
  • Be majoring or specialising in Theological and Religious Studies.
  • Have completed a Stage II course in the Bachelor of Arts Schedule for Theological and Religious Studies in the preceding year.
  • Have submitted, as part of coursework, an essay that best challenges or expands traditional theological and religious thought through creative, interdisciplinary,
  • and academically rigorous engagement with other disciplines.

Value of the David Hare Award in Theological and Religious Studies:

One Award will be made annually, for a period of up to one year and will be of the value of up to $2,000.

Application process:

No separate application is necessary. All eligible applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship.
