David E. Johnson Memorial Scholarship

The David E. Johnson Memorial Scholarship supports continuing SF State students pursuing Geography and Environment-related studies.

Eligibility criteria for the David E. Johnson Memorial Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be continuing SF State students.
  • Applicants must have completed at least 10 units in Geography, Environmental Science, or GISc at SFSU. Units currently in progress count.
  • Applicants must continue as a student and be enrolled in the Fall semester.
  • Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled in at least 6 units.
  • Graduate applicants must be enrolled in at least 4 units.
  • Applicants must have a minimum SF State GPA of 3.0 
  • Applicants may be of any citizenship.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an interest in environmental justice or urban environmental planning.
  • Students active in the African American community are encouraged to apply.
  • The scholarship is available to students in degrees within the former Department of Geography & Environment.
