Das Klagenfurt Stipendium at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:

The Das Klagenfurt Stipendium at the University of Klagenfurt supports outstanding Master’s students who are citizens of an EU or EEA Member State and whose excellent academic progress indicates strong potential for further achievements in their studies and professional careers. The two-year scholarship combines public and private sponsorship. The City of Klagenfurt provides part of the funding, while leading Carinthian companies provide the remaining support and establish professional connections with scholarship holders. In addition to financial assistance, the programme enables students to develop a valuable professional network with sponsors and fellow scholarship recipients.

Eligibility Criteria for the Das Klagenfurt Stipendium at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:

• Applicant must be a prospective or already admitted student of a Master’s degree programme at the University of Klagenfurt.
• Applicant must fulfill the admission requirements for the chosen Master’s degree programme.
• Applicant who is a prospective student must be about to begin the Master’s programme.
• Applicant who is already enrolled in the Master’s programme must have completed no more than 20 ECTS credits in that programme.
• Applicant must have submitted their Master’s admission application between the beginning of the summer-semester admission period and the end of the winter-semester admission period in the relevant application year.
• Applicant must have no more than three years between completing their Bachelor’s degree and admission to the Master’s programme.
• Applicant must be under 30 years of age when starting the Master’s programme.
• Applicant must be an EU or EEA citizen or a foreign national with equal status under the applicable Austrian regulations.
• Applicant must demonstrate strong academic performance and excellent progress in their studies.
• Applicant may receive additional consideration for social or civic engagement.
• Applicant may receive additional consideration for challenging personal or family circumstances.
• Applicant may provide evidence of other non-university involvement, such as awards, certificates, or testimonials.

Application Process for the Das Klagenfurt Stipendium at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:

• Applicant must submit the scholarship application by the announced deadline.
• Applicant must prepare the required documents, including:
  • Certificate or proof of successful course completion
  • One-page motivation letter
  • CV in tabular format
  • Proof of social or civic engagement or special personal/family circumstances, if applicable
  • Proof of other non-university involvement, such as awards, certificates, or testimonials, if applicable
• Applicant must ensure that all documents are submitted in German or English.

Value of the Scholarship:

• The scholarship provides a total of EUR 300 per month for two years.
• EUR 150 per month is provided through public sponsorship by the City of Klagenfurt.
• EUR 150 per month is provided through private sponsorship from Carinthian companies, associations, clubs, graduates, and other sponsors.
• The private sponsorship component also provides scholarship holders with opportunities to establish professional relationships and build a network with sponsors.
