A prosperous businessman from Mountain View, California, Mr. Schoettler founded the Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students in 1991. Mr. Schoettler remained blind for the final eight years of his life.
Eligibility for the Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students at California State University:
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale and maintain this GPA during the award year.
- Be currently enrolled in 6.1 units or more as a CSU undergraduate or graduate student and remain enrolled in at least 6.1 units during the academic year.
- Have a visual disability, defined by the CSU as blindness or partial sight that impedes the educational process and may require accommodations or support services.
- Be registered with their campus Disability Support Services office (verification will be completed by the CSU Foundation).
