Eligibility Criteria for ALECOSTA: Alemania-Costa Rica DAAD 2026:

Applicants must:

  • Be a university lecturer at one of the following Costa Rican universities:
    • University of Costa Rica
    • Costa Rica Institute of Technology
    • National University
    • State Distance University
    • National Technical University

Value of ALECOSTA: Alemania-Costa Rica DAAD 2026:

  • Monthly scholarship payments provided by Costa Rican partners.
  • Travel allowance (if not provided by the home university).
  • Initial language course in Germany (up to 6 months for Master’s and doctoral candidates) including accommodation and pocket money, or a language course during the course of study.
  • Health, nursing care, accident, and liability insurance for the scholar; optional health and liability insurance for accompanying family.
  • One-year research and study grant.
  • Printing costs subsidy for doctoral students.
