Eligibility Criteria for ALECOSTA: Alemania-Costa Rica DAAD 2026:

Applicants must:

Be a university lecturer at one of the following Costa Rican universities:
- University of Costa Rica
- Costa Rica Institute of Technology
- National University
- State Distance University
- National Technical University

Value of ALECOSTA: Alemania-Costa Rica DAAD 2026:

Monthly scholarship payments provided by Costa Rican partners.
Travel allowance (if not provided by the home university).
Initial language course in Germany (up to 6 months for Master’s and doctoral candidates) including accommodation and pocket money, or a language course during the course of study.
Health, nursing care, accident, and liability insurance for the scholar; optional health and liability insurance for accompanying family.
One-year research and study grant.
Printing costs subsidy for doctoral students.
German language course costs for accompanying spouses, if applicable.

Applicants must submit an application in order to be considered for the scholarship.
