CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Barley Rust Resistance, 2017 is open to highly motivated candidates who wish to conduct research into the development of durable rust resistance in barley.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants of CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Barley Rust Resistance, 2017 must have a doctorate or shortly fulfill the Ph.D. requirements in a relevant area like plant biology, breeding or plant genetics.
  • Applicants are required to have demonstrable experience in analysis of the barley genome and cloning disease resistance genes from large plant genomes.
  • Experience in the characterisation of barley rust response phenotypes and developing mutants is also essential.
  • Candidates applying for CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Barley Rust Resistance, 2017 should possess extensive experience in RNA and plant genome analysis along with laboratory, glasshouse, and field based plant growth experiments.
  • Candidates should be able to drive to interstate field sites regularly to analyze and manage plant population responses to rust epidemics.
