Eligibility for the CSIRO Data61 Scholarship program 2026:

Applicants must:

  • Hold or expect to complete a first-class honours (H1) bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant research area.
  • Have applied for admission to a PhD program at an Australian university or have completed less than 12 months of PhD study at an Australian university at the time the scholarship starts.
  • Have a university supervisor who is willing and able to supervise you.
  • Not already holding a PhD degree.
  • Be ready to commence within the advertised time frame for the scholarship.
  • Be a domestic or international student either living in Australia or overseas.

Value of CSIRO Data61 Scholarship program 2026:

  • Living stipend:
    • AU$42,000 per year for the first two years
    • AU$44,000 in the third year
  • Learning & development fund: Up to AU$5,000 over the scholarship term
  • Co-supervised research: Work with both Data61 researchers and your university supervisors.
