Overview

The China Scholarship Council is a non-profit institution affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education. The CSC is responsible for the organization, management, and provision of financial resources for Chinese citizens studying abroad and for international students studying in China.

Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship:

  • Applicant must be a citizen and permanent resident of the People’s Republic of China.
  • Prospective applicants and current students of PhD are eligible.
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive an Australian Student Visa.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in UQ for the PhD program by fulfilling the following criteria:
    • the applicant has completed some research experience.
    • applicant must hold an approved university degree.
  • Applicant must meet the University’s English proficiency requirement.

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must note, that they must first be enrolled in UQ for the PhD program.
  • Applicants must mention that they are applying for the CSC-UQ Scholarship in the application form.
  • Applicants must apply to the CSC only.
  • Applicants must contact the CSC Scholarship Liaison officer at their university in China for assistance with the application.

  • The Scholarship covers the following benefits:
    • living stipend
    • health insurance in Australia
    • one return airfare from China to Australia
    • Australian Student Visa application fees.
