Critical Language Scholarships at Portland State University 2025

Critical Language Scholarships are provided by Portland State University to students who have enrolled themselves in a bachelor's program at the University.

Eligibility criteria for Critical Language Scholarships:

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application.
• Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the start of the program.
• Applicants must be in good academic standing at their home institution.
• Applicants must meet language prerequisites, if required for their chosen language (some languages accept beginners; others require prior study).
• Applicants must intend to continue studying the language after the program ends.
• Applicants must demonstrate a strong motivation to use the language in future academic, professional, or public service work.

Application Deadline:

Early to mid-November 2025 (for Summer 2026 programs).
