Overview

As a Cox Access Scholar, the selected candidates will engage in a meaningful work experience with a department, office, or faculty member at IU Bloomington. They will develop invaluable personal and professional development skills by working 10 to 12 hours each week during the fall and spring semesters. You’ll also participate in the following: Career preparation and development, Community service projects, and, Career and personal assessments.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be an Indiana resident with a citizen status of U.S. Citizen or Naturalized Citizen.
  • Applicants may have a cumulative gap of three years or more in their education.
  • Applicant must be pursuing the first baccalaureate degree.
  • Applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours upon arrival and throughout the academic career at IU Bloomington.
  • Applicant must be earning a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher (4.0 scale) at the time of admission.
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the federal government by April 15, 2026, for the upcoming academic year.
  • Applicant must be willing to complete a 10 to 12-hour work commitment each week during your entire enrollment at Indiana University.

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must submit an online application to be considered for the scholarship.
  • Cox Access Scholarships are renewable for a total of four years. The conditions applicable are as follows:
    • Be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours) as a degree-seeking student on the Bloomington campus.
    • Maintain a cumulative program GPA of 3.0.
    • Successfully worked in the on-campus position during the entire enrollment at Indiana University.
