Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2025:

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of or have refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country or be a British Protected Person.
• Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
• Be available to start full‑time study in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2026.
• Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours or a second class degree with a relevant postgraduate qualification by the closing date.
• Not have studied or worked for one year or more in a high‑income country as defined by the World Bank.
• Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
• Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format via the online application system.
• Have applied for and been offered a place on an eligible full‑time Master’s course at a participating UK university as required (universities may have separate requirements).
• Satisfy the English language requirements of the chosen university where specified.
• Confirm they will return to their home country after the award ends

Value of Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2025:

•  Approved tuition fees fully covered by agreement between the CSC and the UK university. 
• Approved airfare from the scholar’s home country to the UK and return at the end of the award.
• Living allowance (monthly stipend). 
• Warm clothing allowance where applicable. 
• Thesis or study travel grants for study‑related travel. 
• Contribution towards mandatory TB test costs where required. 
• Family allowances for eligible dependents in defined circumstances.

Application Process:

Applications are made via the CSC online application system called CSC Central. All supporting documents must be uploaded through this system.
