Overview
Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2025:
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of or have refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country or be a British Protected Person.
- Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Be available to start full‑time study in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2026.
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours or a second class degree with a relevant postgraduate qualification by the closing date.
- Not have studied or worked for one year or more in a high‑income country as defined by the World Bank.
- Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
- Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format via the online application system.
- Have applied for and been offered a place on an eligible full‑time Master’s course at a participating UK university as required (universities may have separate requirements).
- Satisfy the English language requirements of the chosen university where specified.
- Confirm they will return to their home country after the award ends
Value of Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2025:
- Approved tuition fees fully covered by agreement between the CSC and the UK university.
- Approved airfare from the scholar’s home country to the UK and return at the end of the award.
- Living allowance (monthly stipend).
- Warm clothing allowance where applicable.
- Thesis or study travel grants for study‑related travel.
