Overview

Candidates from the least developed, low-income, and lower-middle-income Commonwealth nations are eligible to apply for one of fifty-five Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, which are available for part-time Master's degree programs provided by UK institutions via distance learning. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office provides funding for these scholarships.

Eligibility for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships at the University of Edinburgh:

  • The applicant must be a British Protected Person, a citizen of one of the qualifying Commonwealth nations, or be awarded refugee status.
  • The candidate must reside in a Commonwealth nation that is eligible for permanent residency. The applicant must have completed at least an upper second class (2:1) first degree. In some circumstances, a lesser degree and adequate relevant experience could be taken into consideration.
  • Each applicant has to submit a minimum of one reference.
  • Each applicant has to have an offer to begin their selected program of study in 2025.
