Creative Achievement Award in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies honors students’ contributions to women’s, gender, and sexuality studies (feminist and/or queer studies) creative expression on the Pullman campus.
Eligibility criteria for the Creative Achievement Award in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies:
The applicants must:
- Be of any nationality.
- Be a women’s, gender, and sexuality studies major or minor or queer studies minor on the Pullman campus.
- Submit single piece of work or project that demonstrates exceptional achievement and artistic expression.
- Exhibit Creativity, personal investment, and overall excellence.
Selection Process:
- Any work meeting the above criteria that has been completed by a women’s, gender, and sexuality studies major or minor or queer studies minor in a WGSS (WGSS) course between April 10, 2024 and April 10, 2025 is eligible for consideration.
- Self-nominations are appropriate and encouraged. WGSS faculty may also nominate a student’s work.
Application Process:
- The applications should include the following documents in the nomination form:
- A copy of the assignment.
- The creative work or project: copies of poems or prose (PDF), photographs of visual arts, or video of performing arts.
- A one-page typed statement explaining the background and significance of the project.
Value of the Scholarship:
- First place: $1,000.
- Second place: $500.
- Third Place: $250.
