Description:

Sussex has an ambitious strategic goal, to be one of the most sustainable universities in the world and show global leadership in demonstrating and promoting all forms of environmental, social and economic sustainability at a local, regional, national and international level. As part of this commitment, Sussex is participating in the COP26 scholarships program and offering at least five £3,000 scholarships to new students in 2023.

Eligibility for the Climate Leaders Scholarship:

  • Applicant must be a UK student classified as 'Home' for fees and have accepted a place on an eligible Undergraduate, Masters or PhD, commencing in September 2023.
  • Should be able to demonstrate their personal track record of being an environmental influencer and bringing about real world change in relation to the climate crisis.
  • Candidate must be able to commit to collaboration with the University and local community to encourage pledges to net zero and tackling the climate crisis.

The University of Sussex is a public research university situated in Falmer, near Brighton in Sussex. The university received its Royal Charter in August 1961, and was a founding member of the 1994 Group of research-intensive universities promoting excellence in research and teaching.
