- Applicant must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person.
- Applicant must be enrolled full-time in a University Studies programme at any Okanagan College campus, with a minimum 9 credits or 60% course load, or 6 credits or 40% course load for students with permanent disabilities.

- Applicant may receive preference if they are pursuing and committed to a focus or emphasis on teaching or education.
