Overview

The City of Johannesburg Municipality is committed to providing skills development opportunities, not only for its employees but also for the Johannesburg community members. The City is offering 100 bursaries to South African citizens, who permanently reside in Johannesburg, to pursue full-time undergraduate studies.

Criteria for selection:
• Selection of successful candidates will be strictly on academic merit.
• Applicants are expected to study at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
• It is the student's responsibility to seek admission to a tertiary institution.
• The bursary is for study programs of no less than one year

Eligibility: 

  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must permanently reside in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
  • You must be presently in Matric or have finished Matric
  • You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards an undergraduate qualification within one of the subjects of study indicated above (the bursary does NOT finance postgraduate studies)
  • Your qualification/course of study should be at least one year long.
  • You must be enrolled or intend to study at a registered tertiary institution in South Africa.
  • You must have an excellent academic record
  • You must not receive any other scholarship, grant, or other type of financing for study reasons.
