Eligibility Criteria for Chinese-English Translation Scholarships:

  • Hold a conditional firm or unconditional firm offer for an eligible full-time Chinese-English Translation and Interpreting course starting in 2025–26.
  • Be an overseas fee-paying, self-funded student.
  • Demonstrate strong academic merit and interview performance.
  • Not hold another University of Essex scholarship.

Value of Chinese-English Translation Scholarships:

Five scholarships of £3,000 each are available for international students holding an offer for our Chinese-English Translation and Interpreting programmes in the Department of Language and Linguistics. 

Application Process:

No separate application required. All eligible course applications received by 30 June 2025 are automatically considered.
