Overview

Tianjin University offers students from countries along the proposed Road and Belt Initiative. The Chinese Government Scholarship-Silk Road Program” of Tianjin University aims to promote educational cooperation and cultivate professionals in these countries.

Eligibility Criteria for Chinese Government Scholarship: Silk Road Program at TJU 2025:

  • Applicants must be citizens from countries along the Road and Belt project.
  • The applicant for a Bachelor's degree must be below the age of 25.
  • The applicant for a Master's degree must be below the age of 35.
  • The applicant for the Ph.D. degree must be below the age of 40.
  • Chinese-taught program applicants need to submit HSK5 certificates.
  • English-taught program applicants need to submit an English proficiency certificate.
  • Applicants shall be of good moral character, physically and mentally healthy, and willing to comply with Chinese laws and the regulations of Tianjin University.

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must apply online for the scholarship.
  • The documents to be submitted along with the application are as follows:
    • Scan Copy of High School, Bachelor and Master Diploma,
    • Scan of a notarized copy of the High School, Bachelor, and Master academic transcripts,
    • Photocopy of passport,
    • Chinese or English Proficiency Certificate,
    • Study Experience Resume,
    • Form of Provisional Acceptance of International Student by TJU Professor,
    • Study or research plan,
    • Two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors or associate professors,
    • Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form,
    • and other documents as requested by the provider. 

Value of the Scholarship:

  • The successful applicants will receive the following benefits:
    • 2,500 RMB/month for Bachelor students.
    • 3,000 RMB/month for Master's students.     
    • 3,500 RMB/month for Ph.D. students.
    • Tuition fee waiver.
    • Monthly allowance:
    • Comprehensive Health Insurance.
