CBC Journalism Award at Holland College 2026

Introduction: 

The CBC Journalism Award is a nomination-based award designed to recognize a second-year student in Journalism & Communications who shows strong potential to contribute to the field of broadcast journalism. Preference is given to students demonstrating clear promise in broadcast journalism.

Eligibility requirement for CBC Journalism Award at Holland College:

• Must be a second-year student
• Must be enrolled in Journalism & Communications
• Must demonstrate potential for outstanding contribution to broadcast journalism
• Preference given to students showing strong promise in broadcast journalism

Value of the scholarship:

A CAD 500 is awarded to support a full-time student

Application Process:

• This is a nomination-based award (students cannot directly apply in most cases)
• Candidates are nominated by faculty or program staff
• Nominated student must meet eligibility criteria
• Selection is based on: academic performance, broadcast journalism potential, faculty assessment of promise in the field
• Must be enrolled in second year at the time of nomination

NOTE:

Preference will be given to a student showing promise in the field of broadcast journalism.
