The Carrick Robertson Prize commemorates the late Sir Carrick Robertson, who was one of Auckland’s leading surgeons.
Eligibility for the Carrick Robertson Prize:
- The Carrick Robertson Prize will be awarded to the student enrolled in Part VI of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) who achieved the highest aggregate marks in clinical assessments conducted by the Head of the Department of Surgery.
- As a minimum standard, the student should have averaged at least 80% in the assessments.
Value of the Prize:
One Carrick Robertson Prize will be awarded annually and will be of the value of $500.
Note:
The Carrick Robertson Prize will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Head of the Department of Surgery. The prize may not be shared. The University of Auckland Council will not be bound to award the Carrick Robertson Prize if there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
