Business School PhD Completion Award at Sydney University 2024

An award for postgraduate research:

A PhD Completion Award to help PhD candidates enhance their record of publications and better equip themselves for success in the job market.

Eligibility for Business School PhD Completion Award at Sydney University:

• The deadline for applications is six months from the anticipated date of thesis submission.
• At the beginning of the grant, the winner must be enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Sydney Business School.
• According to the University of Sydney (Higher Degree by Research) Rule 2011 Policy, the student cannot have used up all of their candidacy for their degree at the beginning of the award.

Selection Criteria:

• Curriculum vitae with the anticipated thesis submission date indicated,
• Two letters of recommendation from the discipline postgraduate research coordinator and the PhD supervisor
• Prior research experience as evidenced by a working paper or publication that the applicant mostly wrote, together with an authorship statement detailing the candidate's contributions to the research and paper writing, and
• A maximum of two-page activity plan that covers topics such as publication planning, generating new research initiatives, networking, academic conferences, research seminars, and so on.
• The Associate Dean of Research Education will nominate and reward the successful candidate on the advice of an evaluation panel made up of several distinguished academics.

Value of the Scholarship:

If excellent academic performance is maintained, the award will pay a total allowance for six months equal to the annual (pro rata) stipend rate of the University of Sydney's Research Training Program (RTP), unless otherwise specified in the award Offer Letter.
