The Burr G. & Virginia G. Burbank Physics Scholarship provides financial support to current department graduate students who teach Physics & Astronomy laboratory classes as GTAs (Graduate Teaching Associates).

Eligibility Criteria for the Burr G. & Virginia G. Burbank Physics Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be current graduate students.
  • Applicants must be teaching at least one Physics & Astronomy laboratory class as a GTA.
  • Applicants must have completed or be currently taking PHYS 885 and have earned a passing grade.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a PHYS or ASTR course.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in at least 3 graduate units.
  • GTAs may receive only one award per academic year and may receive the scholarship for a maximum of three years, subject to the criteria
