Overview

Through the Legal & General Sustainable Leaders Bursary, Birkbeck is pleased to offer bursaries of GBP 5,000 to undergraduate and postgraduate students from diverse backgrounds who want to study environment and sustainability courses. 

Eligibility Criteria for Birkbeck Legal & General Sustainable Leaders Bursary:

  • Applicants must be new undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolling in the first year of one of the eligible programs listed for the first time in 2025/26.
  • Applicants must be continuing students who have completed a Foundation Year at Birkbeck and are progressing into year 1 of the BSc Environmental Management with Foundation Year. 
  • Applicants must have an annual household income of less than £40,000.

  • BSc Environment and Sustainability 
  • BSc Business and Sustainability with Foundation Year
  • BSc Geography with Foundation Year
  • MSc Environment and Sustainability
  • MSc Management with Business Strategy and the Environment
  • MSc/PGCert/PGDip Climate Change
  • MSc Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability 
  • LLM Law with Environmental Law, Governance, and Policy.
  • MSc Global Politics of Environment and Resources
  • MSc Sustainable Cities

Value of the scholarship:

Successful candidates will be awarded a GBP 5,000 cash bursary to help them in their first year of study.
