The Balcomo, A Ramada by Wyndham Tourism Awards support Okanagan College students pursuing Tourism and Hospitality Management who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need. Preference is given to students with previous study experience at the Penticton Campus and those interested in careers in the tourism and/or wine industry.

Eligibility Criteria for the Balcomo, A Ramada by Wyndham Tourism Awards at Okanagan College 2026:

  • Applicant must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person.
  • Applicant must have completed at least one year of full-time study (minimum 24 credits) in either:
    • The Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Specialty in Tourism and Hospitality Management; or
    • The Tourism Management Diploma programme at any Okanagan College campus.
  • Applicant must be returning to Okanagan College for the following semester to continue full-time study.
  • Applicant must be in good standing.
  • Applicant must have previously completed part of their programme at the Penticton Campus to receive preference.
  • Applicant must indicate an interest in pursuing a career in the tourism and/or wine industry to receive preference.
  • Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need, with emphasis on financial need.

  • Apply through the All Campus Current/Returning Application.
  • Recipients are selected by the department.

Value of the Award:

  • Two awards of CAD 1,000 each are awarded to the recipients.
