Widening Access Scholarships worth £1,000 are awarded by the Department of English for each year of study. These scholarships are only one way we can honour and celebrate the accomplishments of students who have surmounted major obstacles and difficulties on their path to higher education.

Eligibility for BA English Widening Participation Bursary:

  • Must be a home-based student in the United Kingdom.
  • The applicant needs to be registered for Q300 BA (Hons) English.
  • The applicant ought to begin your study in September 2024, CaliforniaDidte ought to have completed Key Stages 4 and 5 of their education at a UK state school or institution.

Application Process:

There is no need for an application form.  To select recipients, the Department will consider the data on your UCAS form in addition to the data on the Multiple Equality Measure for UCAS.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded a sum of GBP 3,000 over three years.
