About:

This studentship will be a cohort of 5+ peers undertaking parallel research projects on related topics. A specialized training program is in place for the cohort which includes technical skills, research skills, and personal skills. Robotics is a research topic cutting across a range of disciplines. As a result, this tight-knit group will also integrate into several of the wider peer-support networks of the University. This includes the Robotics Lab at CVSSP, the Centre for Automotive Engineering, and the Nature-Inspired Computing and Engineering group, as well as the Institute for People-Centred AI.

  • Adaptable robot manipulation skills
  • AI-based integrated chassis control for automated vehicles
  • AI-based vehicle dynamics controllers and observers for off-road autonomous driving
  • Eye-in-the-sky: Satellite-supported autonomous vehicles
  • Robot sheepdog

Eligibility criteria:

  • Open to any UK or international candidates.
  • Up to 30% of our UKRI-funded studentships can be awarded to candidates paying international rate fees.

  • In place of a research proposal, you should upload a document stating the title of the project that you wish to apply for and the name of the relevant supervisor.
  • You must upload your full CV and any transcripts of previous academic qualifications.
