Eligibility for Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation Scholarship 2022:

To be eligible to receive an Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Be intending to enroll or be enrolled at CQUniversity in Term 2, 2022
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate course
  • Be a direct descendant of the South Sea Islanders who were brought into Queensland and New South Wales between 1863 and 1904 and worked as indentured laborers
  • Be a member of the Australian South Sea Islander community
  • Be residing and studying in Queensland
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate academic merit and demonstrate a financial need.
  • Have not previously completed an undergraduate degree
  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Not be receiving another CQUniversity Scholarship of similar or higher value

  • Written submission
  • CQUniversity unofficial transcript or documentation demonstrating prior academic achievement

Value of Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation Scholarship 2022:

Successful applicants of the Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation Scholarship 2022 will receive a scholarship of up to $10,000 ($5,000 payments for full-time students / $2,500 payments for part-time students).
