Overview

The ASEAN Tourism Scholarship is offered to nationals of ASEAN member nations who wish to pursue postgraduate research studies (Master's or PhD) in fields connected to or important to ASEAN tourism. The research focus should be consistent with the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) goals. 

Eligibility criteria for the ASEAN Tourism Scholarship:

For Master's Applicants:

  • This opportunity is open to only ASEAN member countries.
  • Research proposal must be relevant to the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) 2016-2025 priority areas
  • Applicant with publication in Citation Indexed Journal (CIJ) will have an added advantage
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Minimum CGPA 3.33 AND
  • Master’s Degree (Coursework/Mixed mode): Minimum CGPA 3.50 from any recognised institution OR;
  • Master’s Degree (Research mode) from any recognised institution

Benefits of the ASEAN Tourism Scholarship:

  • 100% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 36 months (full-time study)
  • Monthly stipend of RM 2,300
  • Conference allowance of RM 3,000
