Overview

The purpose of the ASEAN Excellence Scholarship is to encourage exceptionally talented individuals to further their education at Newcastle University. This merit-based award encourages applicants to keep pushing themselves to be the greatest versions of themselves by recognizing and rewarding those with a strong academic background.

Eligibility Criteria of ASEAN Excellence Scholarship:

  • A passport from one of the following "ASEAN" nations—Burei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam—is required of applicants.
  • Candidates must be starting their studies in one of the University's approved undergraduate or graduate coursework programs (except programs offered at offshore campuses and ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, Higher Degrees by Research).
  • The applicant should not get another scholarship from the institution unless the university has granted exceptional permission in advance.
  • As stated in their offer letter, the candidate must be starting an eligible program at an Australian or online campus.

Application Process:

No separate application is needed. When a student applies to the university, they are immediately considered for scholarships (if they meet the eligibility conditions).
