Alumni PGCE Bursary Award at University of Northampton 2026:

The Alumni PGCE Bursary Award provides financial support to University of Northampton graduates who choose to continue their studies at the University by enrolling on an eligible full-time PGCE Primary QTS programme. The award is intended to help reduce some of the costs associated with postgraduate teacher training and encourage University alumni to pursue a career in primary education.

Eligibility Criteria for the Alumni PGCE Bursary Award at University of Northampton 2026:

  • Applicant must have studied and graduated from the University of Northampton with an eligible undergraduate qualification.
  • Applicant must be enrolling on a full-time PGCE Primary QTS 5-11 or PGCE Primary QTS 3-7 course.
  • Applicant must have completed a 3-year BA/BSc undergraduate programme at the University of Northampton, or a 2-year Foundation or HND course followed by a Top-Up award.
  • Applicant must be enrolling on the eligible PGCE programme in the 2025/26 academic year.
  • Applicant must not be studying a PGCE through the Schools Direct salaried route.

Application Process for the Alumni PGCE Bursary Award at University of Northampton 2026:

  • Applicant does not need to submit a separate application for the bursary.
  • The University of Northampton will identify eligible students from its records.
  • Applicant who qualifies for this bursary may also be eligible for the Northampton Bursary, subject to meeting its separate criteria.

Value of the Scholarship:

  • Successful students will receive a total of GBP 500.
  • The bursary will be paid in two instalments of GBP 250:
    • GBP 250 on 20 March 2026
    • GBP 250 on 29 May 2026
