A.J. Parker Memorial Scholarship

The A.J. Parker Memorial Scholarship honours the memory and scientific achievements of Professor A.J. Parker. Professor Parker was appointed as a foundation professor of Chemistry and Mineral Science at Murdoch University in 1974.

Eligbility criteria of the A.J. Parker Memorial Scholarship:

• The applicant must be enrolled full-time in the Graduate Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy at the university.
• The applicant must be enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Education with Physical Sciences Teaching major at the university.
• The applicant must be enrolled in Physical Sciences and Mathematics, Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences or Education programmes at the university.
• Preference will be given to students undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy.
• Part-time study with extenuating circumstances may be considered.

Application process for the A.J. Parker Memorial Scholarship:

• Applications open from the first week of September each year.
• Applicants must submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words explaining why they should be selected.
• Applicants must provide their most recent academic record.

Payment method:

• $1,500 per semester, for up to one year.
• Payments are made directly to the recipient's nominated bank account, with processing commencing from Week 7 of each semester.
