The Department for International Development provides financing for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme, which is a collaborative effort between UK institutions and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. Its goal is to provide financial aid to students from developing Commonwealth nations who would not otherwise be able to attend university in the UK.
Eligibility for Commonwealth Scholarship at the University of Chichester:
- The candidate must be a British Protected Person, a citizen of one of the qualifying Commonwealth nations, or have been given refugee status by one of those nations.
- The applicant must reside in one of the eligible Commonwealth nations.
- By September 2024, when the UK academic year officially begins, the candidate must be available to begin academic studies in the UK.
- The candidate must have a first degree with at least an upper second-class (2:1) honors standard by September 2024, or a lower second-class degree with an appropriate postgraduate degree (often a Master's degree). Normally, the CSC wouldn't pay for a second master's degree. Those who are applying for a second Master's degree need to explain why they want to pursue this course of study.

Application Process:
The candidate must fill out an online application form at the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website to apply for the scholarship. CSC is in charge of managing the application process; it receives and evaluates applications. Applications have to be submitted online using the CSC application system. Applicants must first apply to one of the nominating organizations; direct applications for these scholarships are not accepted by the CSC:
