Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships

The University of Sydney is offering postgraduate scholarships to Papua New Guinea citizens to pursue Master of Social Work, Master of International Public Health, Master of Agriculture, Master of Education, or Master of Public Health.

Eligibility for the Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships :

• The applicants for Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships should be citizens of Papua New Guinea.
• The candidates should have Australian bachelor degree or its equivalent with excellent results.
• The applicants who are transferring students with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing or who have already started their postgraduate studies are not eligible.

Selection Criteria for the Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships :

• The candidates applying for Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships are assessed based on the academic merit and proficiency in the English language,
• The applicants should are also evaluated based on their actual results and not predicted results.
• Only the candidates with unconditional offers are considered.

How to apply?

• The applicants for Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships are not required to submit a separate application.
• The candidates should apply for admissions to the university, in the immediately following year will constitute an application for a Scholarship.
• The applicants who receive an unconditional offer before the deadline will automatically be considered.

Value of the Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships :

• The recipients of Walter Mersh Strong Scholarships will get tuition fees, living allowances at the Australian Postgraduate Award rate, and economy airfare between Port Moresby and Sydney.
• The recipients will also get health cover, book allowance, and student services and amenities fee.
