The University of California-Los Angeles(UCLA) School of Law and Sonke Gender Justice Network has introduced UCLA Law – Sonke Health & Human Rights Fellowship program for African law professionals. This program is to provide specialised training on  impact-oriented public interest lawyers in the areas of health, human rights, HIV prevention, and gender equality.

Eligibility for University of California Los Angeles(UCLA) Law – Sonke Health & Human Rights Fellowship 2019:

  • The applicants to qualify for University of California Los Angeles(UCLA) Law – Sonke Health & Human Rights Fellowship should meet following criteria:
    • Must be African legal professional or recent graduates from South African Law School.
    • Non-South African must have valid work permit.
    • Must have atleast LL.B degree with second class or higher.
    • Must return to South Africa after completion of their degree.
    • Must demonstrate interest in the foundations values.

Value of University of California Los Angeles(UCLA) Law – Sonke Health & Human Rights Fellowship 2019:

  • The successful applicant of University of California Los Angeles(UCLA) Law – Sonke Health & Human Rights Fellowship will receive:
    • Full tuition fee waiver to enroll University of California Los Angeles(UCLA) Law's Master of Law(LL.M).
    • Living expenses.
    • Travel expenses.
    • One year fellowship placement at Sonke Gender Justice's Policy Development and Advocacy unit.
