Description:
Each year UNIDROIT grants scholarships to a limited number of high-performing post-graduate law students, lawyers, academics and government officials to undertake research in the UNIDROIT library. Over the last 25 years, the Research Scholarship Programme has hosted nearly 400 researchers from 65 countries. The Programme is funded by extra-budgetary contributions. The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on the available funding.
A limited number of research scholarships (1000€ per month) will be granted to outstanding post-graduate (doctoral) law students, lawyers, academics and government officials to undertake two months of research in the UNIDROIT library (exceptionally, scholarships can also be granted for three months. Candidates that are unsuccessful in applying for a funded scholarship may instead be invited to undertake a research stay at UNIDROIT on an unfunded basis.
During their research period at UNIDROIT, Scholars may be invited to deliver a short workshop on their topic. Following their research period, scholars are encouraged to consider submitting a paper to the Uniform Law Review for publication.
All scholarships must be undertaken in-person at the UNIDROIT Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
