The Dr. David Nilsson Scholarship provides a $2,000 tuition award during the spring semester to an undergraduate student who has graduated from a High School in Mexico and demonstrates financial need. 

Application Details

In addition to the online application, the following criteria must be met and included with your application to be considered complete:

  • Admitted to UT Austin as an undergraduate student
  • Graduated from a high school in Mexico
  • Be able to demonstrate financial need
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA for the duration of the award

Priority is given to students who:

  • Graduated from a high school in Tejupilco or Querétaro
  • Intend on returning to Mexico
  • Are not eligible to receive a waiver of the nonresident portion of tuition
  • Are not eligible to fill out FAFSA or receive state or federal financial aid

Deadline: The application for the spring 2023 Dr. David Nilsson Scholarship will be available October 1, 2022.

The deadline for the spring 2023 Nilsson Scholarship is November 1, 2022.
